One of SBT Civils’ strategic goals is to make a significant and sustainable difference to the society and the environment in which it operates.

SBT Civils is committed to uplifting individuals from communities where projects are implemented. It does so through site specific construction training at every project; thereby empowering previously disadvantaged communities in the area with the skills to work on each specific project. SBT Civils is passionate about transferring skills and knowledge to the communities in which it works, changing their lives by enabling them to enter the workforce once the project is completed.

Individuals who work on projects from communities who successfully show high levels of commitment and competence, are offered permanent positions.

SBT Civils is passionate about making a difference in the lives of South Africans.

Besides providing much needed employment and skills training to local communities at each of its projects, SBT Civils provides monthly financial support to local Non Profit organisation, Kwa.Mama located in Shaka’s Head. Kwa.Mama provides daily purpose to the lives of unemployed people living in the area; runs a free pre-school; feeds over 200 children in the school; and provides food for old and ill people in the area.
The Non Profit is completely reliant on donations and volunteering, and SBT Civils is committed to providing financial assistance on a monthly basis.

SBT Civils is passionate about empowering the people we interact with and their communities.

Nelson Mandela International Day (or Mandela Day) is an annual international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on 18 July, Mandela’s birthday. The day was officially declared by the United Nations in November 2009, with the first UN Mandela Day held on 18 July 2010.

In 2019, SBT Civils opted to make to assist with Khadasa Chidren’s Home by making sure their tummies were full on such a special day. Not only did this make the children happy but lighted the day for the caregivers as well, knowing the kids had a wholesome meal on such a special day.

Here are some pictures to share the memories that SBT Civils staff had with the home.

In 2017 SBT Civils made it a better place by giving back.
